Air conditioning recharge (R12) 7 |
(13) To fine tune the amount of refrigerant in the system, you need to access the sight glass on the receiver-drier. Working on the right hand side of the front boot, remove the two thumb nuts and withdraw the relay cover. (14) The sight glass is located on top of the receiver-drier which is at the front of the boot. (15) Start the engine and adjust the engine speed to 1200 rpm. Turn the air conditioning switch fully clockwise and the fan speed switch to fast. Check that the engine cooling fans have switched on. (16) View the refrigerant through the sight glass on the top of the receiver-drier. After 5 minutes of running there should be no bubbles visible (an occasional bubble is OK). If the ambient temperature is below 4 degrees Celcius then continuous bubbling may occur so it is best to carry out this check in a warmer environment. |
